On Saturday, July 19, Caring Singles held its summer picnic. This year we held it at the East Lampeter, PA Township Community Park, a beautiful park located between Routes 30 and 340.

The weather was ninety-five degrees and muggy, but we had electric service to our pavillion and several members brought electric fans. Coupled with an occasional breeze and the shade of the pavillion, we were all quite comfortable!

Setting up for the picnic.

Lots of cold drinks and salads refrigerated in ice chests.

Hot dogs starting out on the grill.

"Don't forget to light the grill!"

Some of us took a walk around one of the park's scenic walking paths. At the other end of the park, Dutch Wonderland could be seen in the distance.

Brian,
It looks like a wonderful day and a beautiful place to have had your picnic. Lovely photos and nice shirt!
Jo
Brian - Beautiful setting but 95 degrees would keep me a way, I can't deal with the heat. Your party seem rather relaxed, it is really nice you can all get together.
Hi Jo,
I was debating whether to tuck in the shirt. It looks more like a flag that way. But it was a weekend, and it was hot - what can I say! ;o)
Brian
Hi Jennifer,
i can't really deal with the heat, either - but it wasn't that bad with the fans, in the shade. And I was with good company!
The Park looks beautiful...but I bet most were parked in front of the fans!
I agree...the shirt definately makes a statement!
Joan, you're right. The walk around the park was about a mile and a half, but only four of us went. The rest stayed near the fans!
Looks like everyone had a good time. Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Gita, thanks. Caring Singles does two picnics a year. The next one will be in September.
