Saturday, July 12, the second annual Conestoga Day will be held by the Conestoga, PA Fire Company.

The festival takes place 4:00 - 9:00 pm at "Grasselville" a beautiful farm at 93 Hilltop Drive, Conestoga.

The farm offers beautiful vistas of the rolling hills of Lancaster County, PA.

At the entrance to Grasselville is the quaint Grasselville Train Station. Miniature trains run throughout the afternoon to shuttle folks from one area to the next - or just for a fun ride through some great scenery!

The Fire Company's auxiliary will be serving hot dogs, burgers, ice cream and Lancaster County's famous home-made chicken corn chowder! There will be classic fire fighting vehicles on display, and games for the kids.

Live entertainment will be provided by the band known as Mighty Fine. The evening will be capped off by a fireworks display at 10:00 pm. This is the biggest fund raiser of the year for the Conestoga Fire Company. Why not plan to spend a fun afternoon and evening with the family, and support the Fire Company at the same time!

Brian - The area looks so beautiful. I am sure this will be a event that will be well attended. Great shots!
Jennifer, I agree, Conestoga is in one of the prettiest areas of Lancaster County.
Absolutely wonderful pictures. I fulfilled a longtime dream of visiting Lancaster County, PA, in early May. It was beyond anything I could have imagined, and I thoroughly became enamoured with that part of the country.
By the way - You don't look Amish;-)

Myrl, there's a good reason I don't look Amish - ;o)
I'm glad you were able to come to visit and enjoy Lancaster County. BTW, isn't that a Santa Fe F3 diesel locomotive on your home page? I always thought that was a beautiful locomotive.
Brian - Yes the locomotive on my home page is a fixture in our historic "Old Sacramento" area of town. We have a railroad museum, similar to the one you have in Strasburg.

Did you make it to the Conestoga Day festivities? It looks like it must have been lots of fun....the pictures are beautiful!
Jo
Jo, The festivities had originally been planned for July 5, but the weather caused a postponement to July 12. My photos were from the first Conestoga Day last year. I did not go Saturday, but the weather was beautiful, and I was actually able to watch the fireworks from my home!
Beautiful pictures. I am sure it was a fun event. I hope this comment brings your points to over 200k. Congratulations.
Gita, it really is a nice event in a beautiful area of Lancaster County. BTW, my points are still 199,993. Close but no cigar (yet). Tomorrow for sure!
