Lancaster County PA Realty Check: Breezy View Overlook, Columbia, PA

Hi Brian,

What a magnificent view !  The river is the epitome of the word they use to describe rivers so often, 'mighty'.

Beautiful photos, as always. It does look pretty steep there....one of the things I love about Pennsylvania is the small mountains/giant hills. The gazebo is very attractive and looks like a nice place to sit and talk on a calm, warm day.

Beautiful pictures, Brian!  That river sure does take my breath away.  I can never tire of looking at it.

Jeannie, I do try to stop by when I'm in the area and the weather is decent.  I love it, too.  The beauty of it is that it's still natural and not "developed" on either side.

Brian those are awesome shots, especially the third one.  What kind of camera did you take them with? I am looking around for another camera and would be interested to know.

George, you probably couldn't find my camera any more - it's an older Canon with only 2 megapixels!  On the  internet, that seems to be enough.  Thanks for your comments -

Beautiful pictures, Brian...friends of ours live in Lancaster and I love driving in the area; it's so beautiful.  Not sure where these pictures are in relation to where my friends live, but I do remember hiking along a railroad track and also seeing a gorgeous view of the river, similar to yours here.

Karen, the location of the photos is west of Lancaster on the Lancaster County side of the Susquehanna river, looking west to the York County side.  Marieatta (still on the Lancaster County side) is seen off to the right.

Sal, Lancaster County, PA is a great area!  This year the foliage wasn't quite as colorful as usual due to the dry weather.

Brian, what a spectacular setting! I would love to picnic in that spot. Absolutely gorgeous.

Great pictures.  I grew up in Pottsville, PA, just up the road from you and often miss Pennsylvania.  I drive through the Lancaster area about twice a year and absolutely love the area.  Thanks for putting some pictures of the area up and making my night.

Todd, the water is actually very shallow in some places there.  There are rocks close to the surface, so a combination of the water flowing over the rocks, plus the wind, causes some small "rapids".

Brian, looks like Pennsylvania has some beautiful sites to be seen. Aren't you glad you had your camera! It must be nice to live in an area which such beautiful views. Thanks for sharing it with us.

This area is in western Lancaster County, PA, which is not part of the Amish area.  The Amish areas are mostly in the eastern part of the county.  Thanks for stopping by!
