Work continues on the Lancaster County, PA Convention Center and Marriott Hotel, as the steel framing takes shape!

The steel framing for the Exposition Level (main floor) is on track to be up by Thanksgiving.

The concrete work for the entry level below the main level is already well under way.
Above is the start of the concrete elevator shaft.
There will be five main levels including the Convention Center. The fifth level cuts back toward the tower.
Floors six through nineteen of the tower will be the Marriott Hotel. (There will be no 13th floor.)

Completion of the entire project is planned for 2009.

Good morning Brian,
If I recall, they are keeping the two heritage buildings on either side of this new building, right? I'm just wondering what's to become of those two old buildings...it looks like they are currently all boarded up.
Also, the one in the picture third from the top, seems to have a fence around the top of the tallest part. Do you think they had a rooftop courtyard and garden there? Or perhaps it's not a fence...
Looking forward to seeing the finished project !

Jo (having my morning laugh here...when I first wrote my comment, I had good morning my friend, then took it out and added 'Brian' but forgot to remove the 'my'....lol,oh dear...off to the office and then to fix my Mom's computer)
Good morning, Jo!
Yes, they are preserving the heritage buildings that can be seen in the photos. The currently boarded up buildings are being protected at this time, to be converted into an historic site at some point. When I get more concrete details I'll do a blog on it in the future as well.
Hey Brian,
how is everything for you ? if you did not notice I was away, back again ! , nice photos about that project, came to say hello, keep the good blog :)
