The weather in Lancaster County, PA has been perfect in the last few days for decorating homes in the Halloween "spirit"! Moderate temperatures, getting a little nippy at night... just right.
The rain and wind abated a few days ago, just in time for folks to get the decorations out and start preparing for the little trick-or-treaters.
In most of Lancaster County, the trick-or-treat hours are Wednesday, October 31, between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Don't forget to be extra cautious when driving - look out for the little ghosts and goblins who may not be watching out for you!
Parents, please make sure your kids have flashlights and something reflective on them so that they can be seen by cars. And have them wait until they get home before they eat any candy - just so you have a chance to see that everything they were given is safe...
Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to you too! That is a really cute blog! I am from Williamsport, PA and have been living in South Florida for 4 years. People here do not really decorate for Halloween like we do up North. I think because it still feels like summer. Anyways, if you know of anyone wanting to move to South Florida or to just come down for the season would you pass on my contact information. It would be greatly appreciated.
Have a great day!

Wonderful pictures, Brian. It sounds like you're having similar weather to us. We had our first frost the night before last. It's mostly sunny here during the day and many of the trees still have their green leaves.
Today I went to the historical town of Kingston about 45 minutes away and saw many beautiful old homes and buildings decorated in the autumn and halloween spirit...I was thinking of how you would admire some of them. Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera along!
The little ghosts trekking down the hillside in your first picture are adorable...

Jo, if you liked the little ghosts, you would have gotten a kick out of the little hand made sheet ghosts dancing in a circle that I had previously found in the yard of another home. I didn't stop to take a picture of it because I had someone else in the car - and then I couldn't find the house again later on...
I'm sure I would have enjoyed the homes you described in Kingston.
Brian
Jeannie, I always bought Halloween candy that, if the kids don't get it all, I would like myself! No point in wasting the unused portion, LOL!
Some day maybe you'll share with me how you made the little dancing sheet ghosts. I had never seen them before. I don't have the time to do stuff like that myself, but I definitely appreciated the whimsical craftsmanship involved. Too bad your family won't let you practice your creativity on the dogs - but perhaps the dogs are relieved that they won't have to wear costumes this year...
That's a good idea, Gita! I may do a similar post around Christmas time - although Xmas decorations are harder to photograph well, since you usually have to take them at night to best see the Xmas lights -
George, thanks for stopping by! Now you've got me thinking about finding some apple cider...
Halloween in that part of PA is awesome, especially when you get the weather you have been experiencing! Great photos Brian!
