New Holland PA Fair
This has been the week of the New Holland Farmers Fair.

This year the fair runs from October 3 through October 6.

The New Holland Farmers' fair has been running since the 1930s, when it was started to promote farmers' produce and goods during the Great Depression.

The emphasis in the fair in earlier years was on the display of animals, flowers, and baked goods.

Nowadays, most people come for the parade, which was held on the first day, October 3. The parade features local high school marching bands from all over the area, classic automobiles, and fire company members and apparatus.

Then folks stay, or come on the following days, for the atmosphere, games, kettle corn, funnel cakes, and that wonderful carnival food that can only be found at fairs.

As the evening darkens, the carnival rides start up.

There's nothing quite like the beautiful, garish, colorful lights that outline the rides at a county fair!

This fair looks like lots of fun, Brian.....the only rides I can go on are the ferris wheel and the bumper cars..my system is too sensitive for the others (and has been since I was a child).
Nice pictures ! I love how fairs look at night with all of the colourful lights....the best part for me is the cotton candy. ((-:
I've never heard of funnel cakes.
Jo (I can't sign in to AR since I'm at my office and forgot my AR password )
Brian, Funnel cakes sound delicious...kind of like oliebollen, which I used to make when my sons were small( a Dutch pastry )..
