Lancaster PA Catholic High School Carnival:
As memories of a great summer fade away into the emerging fall foliage, it's nice to delve back into the photographic archives and remember some of the recreational high points of Lancaster PA activities...
The temperature had been 91 degrees, but it got cooler as the evening fell...
Games of amusement and chance on the arcade...
Riding on the "Tornado"...
Musical entertaiment was provided by the Roof Rockers, playing top 40 hits from the '50s and '60s...

Hi Brian,
Looks like a lot of fun.....I always loved the atmosphere of carnivals (we call them 'fairs' here). although I have to close my eyes when I go on the rides. ((-:
Hoping life is treating you well,
Jo
Hi Jo,
We call them fairs, too - except for this particular one, which calls itself a carnival -
It's good to hear from you - hope you're doing well, too!
Brian
I used to love those carnivals as a kid. We never missed them. Great pictures!
Debra, I never had the opportunity to go to these fairs until I came to Pennsylvania years ago. It's a part of Americana that I love!
Brian, love the photos you have in this post! Even at night, there are lots of great colors! Looks like fun.
Hi Pat, this was the first blog I did with photos from my new Lumix camera. I've been totally pleased with the results, even at night!
According to their website, the Lancaster Catholic HS Carnival is scheduled for June 20-25, 2011.
